Chin Yean has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Kent at Canterbury in the United Kingdom. She was admitted to the Bar of England & Wales as a Barrister-at-law of Lincolns Inn in 1996, and to the Singapore Bar in 1998.

Chin Yean has practised in a number of firms in Singapore as well as with major international and local banks before joining I.N.C. Law, with a particular focus on banking and finance (including financial services, fintech, project finance, structured trade finance, asset management and derivatives), mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, general commercial contracts, corporate advisory and compliance.

She also has industry experience in energy, mining and chemical sector given her inhouse stint with an oil major and various firms in the renewables sector, and global multinational corporations in mining, gas and engineering.

Chin Yean regularly acts for private companies and public companies listed on the Singapore Exchange across various industry sectors, in both domestic and cross-border transactions.
